Humanties and The Arts

HUMANITIES and the ARTS

English

Proficiency in English is the cornerstone of successful communication, and also fosters the development of ethical, critical and thoughtful skills that are invaluable in all aspects of life. Creative and imaginative thinkers are given an avenue to express themselves, and a good understanding of English sets the stage for success in the workplace or in further training. The individual needs of students are a priority so literacy support and individual education programs, as well as extension classes, are in place to ensure that each student’s needs are addressed and their individual skills are nurtured.

Humanities and Social Sciences

Studies of society and the environment are highly beneficial to students who wish to gain a greater understanding of the world we live in, and also an insight into the way history has shaped the way we are today. Students will be exposed to such learning areas as geography, history, cultural studies, economics, politics and law, and will gain valuable skills in research and writing that can be applied to a wide range of careers and study options.

 The Arts

The Arts develop student’s sense of personal and cultural identity and equip them for lifelong involvement in and the appreciation of the Arts.  Students can study dance, drama, visual arts or music to develop creative skills, critical appreciation and knowledge of artistic technologies and techniques.
